YESTERDAY:

• woke up and felt awful
  • weird stomachache
  • skipped yoga
  • also cancelled order for acai bowls
• went back to sleep
• woke up close to noon
  • started making lunch at home
• realized I must have slept funny
  • neck was super sore!
• found a place in San Jose that had massage openings
• cancelled lunch!
• got a lovely massage with Jackie
• picked up a mango boba smoothie for lunch
  • also some popcorn chicken from Shihlin
  • Jackie got a tea
• head to dance practice
• productive session!
• took notes for the PGSS meeting
  • Jackie drove around doing errands
  • filled up on gas at Costco
  • head to Whole Foods to return some items
  • head back to Costco to pick up eggs, cereal, and dumplings
  • head to Home Eat to pick up dinner
• head to Brian’s
  • he made ceviche with halibut and lots of mangos and avocados
  • very heavy with the tortilla chips
• finished a tricky Frosthaven scenario
• other Brian cancelled our call this week due to finals at Caltech

  • excellent power flow sequence
  • instructor caught me cheating a side plank due to wrist injury

  • Louisa and Jackie were climbing with Sophie
  • Guarav brought a friend, Pranav, new to climbing
  • finished an 11a and a few 10d climbs
• head to Mexican for lunch
  • breakfast burrito was delicious but very oily
• head home to prepare for wedding
  • shower and change
  • borrowed an ironing board
  • used a pot to iron my shirt out
• head up to Berkeley
  • beautiful wedding ceremony
  • photographer never showed up though!
  • tacos for dinner!
  • caught up with Nigel, Anna Marie, Anna and her husband
  • Nikolaus showed up with Anubha!
  • everybody seems to be married and stable

  • took a nap after filling up at Costco

  • teriyaki beef was tasty
  • spicy seafood soup was delicious

  • needed that yoga class
  • also, April is a pretty good instructor
• head to Olympus
  • puzzles with Louisa and Jackie
  • eventually got chilly and left to work on them at home
  • dropped by Safeway to get some milk
  • picked up some cheap cereal bars (buy 4 for $2 each, usually $6 for one)
  • finished rest of the puzzles at home
• late night chat with Michael and Wei
• another few episodes of Frieren
  • Jackie actually fell asleep!

• plane arrived on time
  • border control didn’t open until 9 am though
  • had to stay on plane until they let us out
• easy pickup from Dad
  • head back to garage to get the Corolla

• only one option for lunch
  • chicken was tasty

• one of Franco’s students requested time to chat
  • spent an hour with him going over college choices
  • sent an intro to Yao
• head back home
• pick up Jackie and head to dance practice
  • super sleepy
  • also haven’t worked on styling for solo at all
  • formations were a bit sloppy, but I’m sure we’ll figure it out

YESTERDAY:

• woke up a bit late
• head to Frido Kahlo museum in Coyoacan
  • pretty interesting and sad story of this artist’s life
• walked around the various food and art markets
  • found a dance group performing a traditional dance balancing bottles on their head
• ended up at a taco restaurant for lunch
  • skirt steak tacos were delicious
  • Bernice came by and had a few
• explored more of the area
• took an uber back to Parque Mexico
  • found the one man band playing here “El Hombre Orquesta”
  • most of his repertoire was rockabilly style songs, but it worked well with his voice
• dropped by a bachata social in the park as well
  • led one song
  • followed Hector (one of Bernice’s friends) for another
• started raining in the park!
• took an uber to Lucha Libre
  • bought some tickets at the location
  • awesome acrobatics and performers
  • very easy to follow who’s good and bad just from body language
  • stayed for about 4 fights and then left
• took an uber to a hot pot place called Longmenzhen Hot Pot
  • tasty flavors although a bit expensive
  • fish was very fresh!
• walked around the Polanco neighborhood
• ended up at a Churerria El Moro
  • chain but very populate for churros
  • shared one with Jackie and Bernice
  • super sweet
• more walking around the Polanco neighborhood
  • ended up a bit chilly since I gave up both jackets to Bernice and Jackie
• uber back to AirBnB
• bit of stomachache
  • maybe too much hot pot
  • maybe got too cold

• picked up Bernice’s luggage from baggage claim
• took an uber to Bernice’s apartment
• took a nap
• head to lunch at a fancy restaurant
  • crab with mango and avocado was tasty
• took a nice stroll back
• checked into AirBnB around 4 pm
• took a nap
• head out to a sirloin taco spot recommended by Erick
  • delicious tacos
  • lots of fun sauces and spiced pineapple to try
• head to social dancing event
  • lesson was fun
  • tricky to understand since it was in Spanish
  • made due by reading body language though
• social dancing was fun
• Jackie was pretty tired from either altitude or rib issue
• Bernice showed up eventually
• had fun both leading and following
