LA Trip

YESTERDAY:

finished filling out and submitting my ballot
left bay area 40 mins behind schedule
lunch at McDonald’s on the way
- they renamed the crispy chicken as the McCrispy
- realized too late that the bun has butter …
- bit gassy on the way down
got to Alhambra around 3 pm?
laundry
went through the stolen things with Dad
- they took a watch :(
one nap
head to dinner
- picked up Brian at Caltech
- met with Auntie Elizabeth at a Shanghai restaurant
- tasty baos!
dessert at a local place
- Brian was trying out his Mandarin

TODAY:

head to Alex’s place
- met Auntie Loretta’s upstairs neighbors
- very friendly family
took Auntie Elizabeth to an Italian restaurant close by
- cafeteria style!
- delicious food, but the pasta was pretty heavy
dropped off four bags at a Goodwill
drop auntie and Alex back at the apartment
took a side detour to LAX
- Elle messaged randomly and had a layover in LA
- she was in Oaxaca for a weekend vacation and heading back to SF
turns out she got stopped by security and taken to an interrogation room :(
- made it out OK though
took her to a Shake Shack for a quick bite
dropped her back off at LAX for her next flight
head back to Alhambra
- Jackie took a volunteer meeting call to prep for next weekend
- gave away Dad’s bike (given to us by a friend) to Auntie Elizabeth
quick nap
head out for dinner with Kathy
- din tai fung in Glendale
- fancy outdoor mall area!
- had a nice walk around it with Kathy and her son Adrian
- he was having fun on his scooter
mall closed before they let us into Din Tai Fung
- tasty meal!
head over to Steven’s Steakhouse for bachata social
- lesson had a bunch of sensual moves
- decent crowd!
- had a couple fun leads and follows
got home around 1:30 am
