Oakland Dancing

YESTERDAY:

• head to yoga class in early morning
  • strength class was fun
  • used slightly less ridiculous weights
  • solidcore has definitely improved my stamina for this
• head to car servicing appointment
  • service manager tried to charge me $300 to reset the data communication module in my car
  • basically, the remote locking feature on my app is broken
  • not paying them anything to figure out why their own service is broken
  • cancelled my subscription on the spot
• Jackie came to pick me up
  • brought breakfast sandwiches from Roger’s Deli
• watched Toy Story 5
  • cute story!
• head home
  • guess we had more time than expected
• head to dance practice
  • productive practice!
  • ended a bit late though
• head back to pick up car from servicing
• left Corolla at the dance studio
• head up to Oakland with Christine and Amenda
  • don’t think they’ve met yet!
  • glad they got along though
• tricky finding parking
• didn’t realize Hello also hosted a free social in Oakland by the waterfront annually
  • beautiful area
  • little hard to do turns on the wooden pier
  • some new follows I haven’t danced with
  • not a lot of leads willing to lead me :(
• dinner at a Vietnamese place close by
  • weird restaurant with a karaoke thing, game room and a bar
  • noodles weren’t that great
  • soup helped with my cough though
• got home relatively early
• head to sleep early since throat is feeling sore

TODAY:

• head to work
• uh oh, Jackie has a sore throat
• busy day at work
• spiced chicken for lunch
  • beef pho looked tasty but we had pho yesterday
• one nap
  • they moved my beanbag back into a nice enclosed, soundproofed, dark area
• head to solidcore class
  • workout seemed to help with my sore throat
• head home
• caught up with Thorvald
• one episode of Ponies
• Jackie brought back dinner from Google
  • avocado toast had a bit too much vegan cheese on it
  • free food is still tasty though!
  • had some dumplings to go with it afterwards
• fill out a questionnaire by our architect
• went to sleep early to recover from the sore throat

LEARNINGS:

• how to dance carefully
  • one of the older ladies that I’ve danced with before hurt her meniscus :’(
• Jackie makes more spelling errors when she’s sick!
