Poutine

YESTERDAY:

internet still out!
head to Jackie’s aunt’s house that still had internet
productive in the morning
head out for lunch
- picked up James who lives a few blocks away
- went to Lunch Lady, a Vietnamese restaurant in east Vancouver
- soft shell crab appetizer was delicious
head back
- dropped off James on the way
work into evening
dinner with Jackie’s aunt
- tasty homecooked food
- chicken + potato reminds me of my parents dish
head out for social at Baza dance studio
- decent leads and follows!
- had fun with a switch that got confused whether she was leading or following
drop by poutine place next door!
- first time!
- vegan cheese was … not as melty as it should be I think
- pretty tasty though for a late night snack
got home late in the evening

TODAY:

internet is finally back!
throat was a little sore
- should have worn a jacket when we walked over to poutine yesterday
worked from kitchen downstairs
- Jackie worked across the table from me
- reminds me of COVID days
head to lunch at a congee place
- crispy fish was kinda weird
- it wasn’t deep fried
- beef rice rolls were pretty decent
head back
finished most of my meetings by 5:30 pm
head over to Jackie’s auntie’s place again
- finished last meetings there
- Jackie played with her cousin’s kids
- had a fun chat with her cousin about SEO for a consumer store in China
head to a social in Richmond
- lots of elderly folks
- also DJ basically played one salsa and one non-salsa
- non-salsa included bachata, meringue, cumbia, etc …
tried to stop by T&T grocery store
- they close at 9 pm technically but doors were shut at 8:50 pm
- dropped by The Real Canadian Superstore instead
- found a tasty looking lo mai gai in the fridge aisle
- not sure if Jackie’s dad has a steamer at home though
went to a cha cha tang called Silver Tower
- amazing pork chop meal
- thick slice, perfectly brined
- breading was just right
- sauce actually tasted like tomatoes
- maybe a little too much spaghetti, but otherwise amazing
got home around 11 pm
herbal lemon drink in the evening
